Basically, what you can do is if you have been prescribed a night guard to wear at night or while you’re driving, basically it’s pretty simple on how to use. If you ever see ballplayers and they have these big, bulky pieces, like mouthpieces in their mouth, then basically what you want to do is you would just wear it as if you were to wear it as a mouthpiece.
You will place it; whether it’s a bottom night guard or if it’s a top night guard it’s you would wear it just the same. You would place the night guard on your lower arch, and then kind of make sure; some night guards like actually clip into place, so when you place it on your lower teeth you actually want to put enough pressure on it to where you actually hear it click into place. If you’re using it for your upper teeth you want to do the same thing, but you want to make sure once when you place the night guard in your mouth.
That you bite down to kind of make sure it’s in a the correct position. if not, if you then you go to bed and you’re wearing it, you can actually wake up with your TMJ joints being sore and tense because the night guard was not placed correctly.
